Test Gallery X-Ray from the Play build

Use this page when validating the Google Play version of Gallery X-Ray. The main focus is first launch, local gallery indexing, premium gating, and Google Play purchase restore.

Install flow

Use the same Google account that was added to the Play testing track.
If you received an internal or closed-test invitation, accept it before installation.
Install or update the app from Google Play only. Do not keep an old USB APK installed for the same package.
After the testing track is created, replace the Google Play listing link above with the actual opt-in invitation link from Play Console.

What to test

First launch privacy notice, gallery permission prompt, and folder selection dialog.
Initial indexing progress and search by text from screenshots or photos.
Photo details screen, delete confirmation, and share action.
Free limit behavior at 100 photos and the premium paywall trigger.

Billing checks

Premium must stay locked by default on a fresh Play install.
The paywall should load the Google Play product `xraygallery_premium_lifetime` once it exists in Play Console.
The restore button should recover premium for testers who already own the product.
On devices without Google Play Billing support, the paywall should show a safe unavailable-state message instead of unlocking premium.

Bug reporting

Report crashes, permission issues, OCR failures, and layout bugs with screenshots or short videos.
Include the device model, Android version, and whether the build came from Google Play or USB.
Use the Telegram testing channel for beta feedback and follow-up questions.
