Privacy Policy for Electrician Calculator

This Privacy Policy describes how Electrician Calculator ("the app") handles information when you use the mobile application package com.fieldcalc.electrician_procalc.

Overview

Electrician Calculator is an electrical calculator and reference tool for electricians, technicians, apprentices, trainers, and contractors. It includes electrical calculations with visible formulas and assumptions, saved history, favorites, projects, references, project reports, and Pro features that are bought through Google Play.

Calculations run on your device. The app does not upload calculation inputs, results, notes, projects, presets, or history to a developer server, and the developer does not operate a server for this app.

Current app features covered by this policy

This policy covers app features including Ohm's law, power, current, voltage drop, wire size estimates, max cable length, copper versus aluminum comparison, scenario comparison, derating, breaker and fuse helpers, motor load, generator sizing, load schedules, conduit fill, box fill, energy cost, metric and imperial units, AWG and mm² wire sizes, local references, local project records, and Pro exports.

Information stored on your device

To provide its features, the app stores the following information in its own storage on your device:

Exported reports are written to the app's temporary storage only for as long as it takes to hand them to the app you choose.

This data is used only to make the app work on your device. It is not transmitted to the developer.

Purchases

Pro is sold only through Google Play Billing on Android: Pro Lifetime is a one-time purchase and Pro Monthly is a subscription that renews until you cancel it in Google Play. When you buy or restore Pro, Google processes the payment and purchase information under its own terms and privacy policy. The developer does not receive your payment details.

The app uses the purchase information that Google Play returns only to check it and to decide whether Pro features are unlocked on your device.

Free and Pro data behavior

Free and Pro use the same local data model. Without Pro the app includes 24 of its 28 calculators, the last 10 history items, up to 3 favorites, and one local project with up to 10 calculations. Pro unlocks the other 4 calculators, unlimited local history, favorites, and projects, project reports, PDF, CSV, and text export, and saved input presets. Upgrading to Pro does not create a developer account or upload your local calculation records to a developer server.

Google Play components in the app

The app includes the Google Play Billing Library to sell and restore Pro. This library adds the com.android.vending.BILLING, INTERNET, and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE permissions to the app so that it can reach Google Play. A Google component that ships with the library (Google data transport) sends technical diagnostics about the library's operation to Google. These diagnostics are handled by Google under its privacy policy; the app does not give the library your calculation inputs, results, notes, projects, or history.

The app may ask Google Play to show its rating dialog. If you rate or review the app there, Google Play handles it under Google's terms; the app does not receive your rating or review text.

Data collection and sharing

The developer does not receive calculation inputs, outputs, notes, projects, settings, or saved history during normal app use.

If you choose to export, import, copy, or share a calculation, project report, CSV, PDF, or plain text result, that action is controlled by you. Shared information is passed to the system share sheet, clipboard, or receiving app you choose. The handling of that information is then governed by the receiving app or service.

Permissions

The app does not request access to location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, files, or Bluetooth. The permissions in the installed app are the Google Play Billing permissions described above, and an internal permission that Android uses to protect the app's own broadcast receivers. The app's own code does not send data over the network: the privacy policy link and the support address open in your browser or e-mail app.

Support email

If you contact support manually by email, the developer will receive the email address and information that you choose to include in your message. That information is used only to respond to your request. Please avoid sending customer details, site addresses, or other sensitive job information unless it is necessary for support.

Backups

The app takes part in Android backup. If backup is turned on for your Google account, Android can copy the app's database, which holds your history, favorites, projects with their notes and saved calculations, and saved input presets, to your Google account backup, and restore it on a new device or when you install the app again. This copy is kept by Google under your Google account, not by the developer.

Settings, the stored Pro status, and the app's other preferences are excluded from backup and from device-to-device transfer. After a restore, the app asks Google Play again which Pro purchases belong to your Google account.

Data deletion

In the app, Settings > Delete all local data removes the history, favorites, projects, notes, and saved input presets, resets the settings, and clears report files left in the app's temporary storage. You can also clear the app's storage in Android settings or uninstall the app.

If Android backup is on, a backup made earlier can stay in your Google account and come back when you install the app again. You can delete it or turn backup off in your device's Google backup settings.

Because the developer does not operate a backend for this app, the developer does not keep a server-side copy of your calculations, projects, notes, presets, or history.

Professional disclaimer

Results are estimates based on the inputs and assumptions shown. Verify final work against local codes, manufacturer specifications, and professional requirements.

Children

The app is intended as a professional utility and is not directed to children. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when the app changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
